OffLingua

Privacy policy

Privacy, in plain language.

OffLingua is provided by R&D COPILOT SRL. This notice distinguishes translation on your device from voice services, downloads and contacting support.

Updated:

Translation and photos

The translation model runs on your device after it has been downloaded. Photo text recognition uses on-device OCR. R&D COPILOT does not operate a translation server that receives your text or photos for these functions.

Voice input and Apple Speech

Voice input uses Apple’s speech-recognition services and requires microphone and speech-recognition permission. On-device recognition is used when supported. For some languages or devices, Apple may process speech on its servers.

Do not assume every voice session is offline. Test the language you need while offline and review speech permissions in iOS Settings. Text and photo translation remain the alternative when you do not want to use network-dependent speech.

Model download and network connections

Initial setup requires an internet connection to obtain the model. Download services receive the connection information needed to transfer files, such as an IP address. Translation text is not needed to download a model.

Model downloads may contact a third-party host such as Hugging Face. The host processes connection information under its own privacy policy. This network transfer is separate from translating your content on the device.

Local app data and device controls

App content is processed on your device. iOS provides controls for app permissions, storage and deletion.

Device backups and Apple system services are governed by your device settings and Apple’s policies.

This website

The website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical request information needed to serve and secure it. The website code does not set advertising cookies or load third-party analytics.

Fonts and website images are served locally. App Store and other external links open services with their own privacy practices.

When you contact support

Emailing [email protected] sends us the contact details, message and any attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to respond and resolve your request, and retain correspondence only as needed for that purpose and applicable obligations.

Support is separate from translation. Do not send payment-card information or sensitive documents that are not needed to explain the issue.

Your choices and requests

You can manage permissions and local data on your device, and contact [email protected] about support information you have sent us.

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion or other data-protection rights and contact your data-protection authority. We assess requests in line with applicable law.
